About the Conference
The Industrial Efficiency Conference, hosted every two years by the National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA), has become recognised as a benchmark in platforms that equip and showcase best practice in South Africa’s green economy.
What sets it apart is the fact that the conference is not aimed at merely discussing issues, but is a programme of two days of educating and equipping businesses and policy makers to adopt and support a cleaner, more efficient model of doing business.
This is in line with the NCPC-SA mandate from the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) to support industry in the transition towards a green economy through appropriate resource efficient and cleaner production interventions.
The 2019 Industrial Efficiency Conference will have two sub themes:
RECP in the digital economy - In addition to resource efficiency best practice, sessions will address how smarter, digital infrastructure can be used to enhance the circular economy and resource efficiency.
Developing circular economy producers and consumers - By showcasing the products of businesses that have adopted RECP, the event will raise awareness about the importance of consumer and customer purchasing decisions in driving the transition to a circular economy.
The Industrial Efficiency Conference 2017 focused on how industry can transition to a low carbon economy in a manner that enhances economic growth, job creation, sector competitiveness and business profitability. The programme showcased case studies and best practice on how to integrate resource efficiency into an organisation – in line with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
